Adverse effects associated with iv immunoglobulin (IVIg) treatment
Systemic effects: vasomotor symptoms (headache, nausea, fever, chills, myalgia, dyspnea) and local vein thrombosis
Cardiovascular effects: hypertension, tachycardia, cardiac failure, thromboembolic events, including myocardial infarction
Renal complications: acute renal failure, acute renal tubular necrosis
Neurologic complications: migraine, aseptic meningitis, reversible encephalopathy, stroke
Hypersensitivity reactions: anaphylaxis, hemolytic anemia, neutropenia, lymphopenia, immune-complex arthritis
Skin reactions: pruritis, petechiae
Changes in serum chemistry: hyponatremia (artifactual), elevated ESR (rouleaux formation), decreased hemoglobin (dilutional), elevated liver enzymes
